Chronic Pain

Chronic pain is something that I live with on a daily basis and is a symptom that comes with all of my illnesses.
Chronic pain can also be an illness in itself.

In the UK 28 million people are affected by pain.

There are many different types of pain that a person can experience including muscular, joint and neuropathic and headache to name a few. The pain expected varies such a throbbing, ache, spasm, stabbing, gripe to name a few.

What is Pain?

When we are in pain the area of the body that is experiencing pain will send signals to the brain to alert it so the brain can act upon this information. When it comes to chronic pain these pain signals for a variety of different reasons can remain switched on sometimes for no obvious reason but it is important to understand that this pain that the person is experiencing is still very real.
